Free Online Course Helps Veterans Launch Small Business Ideas

Published on November 11, 2025

A new four‑week virtual course, “SDVET LaunchPoint,” created by Warrior Rising in partnership with U.S. Small Business Administration, gives service‑disabled veterans and their spouses a structured first step into entrepreneurship. The program helps participants clarify whether business ownership is right for them, identify skills and passions, and map those into viable market opportunities.

The content includes weekly live sessions on Zoom, peer learning with fellow veterans, and guidance on crafting one or two business ideas, identifying an ideal customer, and outlining simple business viability models. By the end, graduates will have more clarity and actionable next steps rather than just motivation.

This initiative reflects a broader shift: veteran‑entrepreneur support moving from ad‑hoc seminars to structured, cohort‑based learning—even before official business launch. It addresses the gap between service experience and business ownership through actionable training.
