Semper Fi & America’s Fund Helps Veterans Launch Businesses through ‘Lifetime of Support’
The Semper Fi & America’s Fund launched its long‑running apprenticeship program designed for veteran entrepreneurs, providing education, mentorship and financial support for veterans launching businesses in fields from food trucks to online retail. The program, which has graduated roughly 250 veterans, positions its support as a “lifetime” network rather than a short‑term cohort.
Program leadership notes that two central barriers for veteran founders are access to capital and the feeling of going it alone after military service. By pairing veterans with mentors and funding through a nonprofit model, the initiative bridges the gap between mission‑driven service and commercial venture success.
The approach underscores how nonprofit veteran‑entrepreneur programs are shifting from “how to start” foundations toward sustained ecosystem support, business model refinement, investor readiness, peer network cultivation and long‑term growth pathways.
