Nonprofit Alliance Builds Veteran Welding Training and Placement Pipeline

Published on November 12, 2025

Wounded Warriors Family Support and AMVET Power have partnered to launch a nationwide initiative that trains and places veterans in high-demand welding careers. The Veterans Welding Training Program offers hands-on technical instruction, industry-recognized certification, and direct connections to employers across the energy and construction sectors. Designed for transitioning service members and wounded veterans, the program bridges the gap between military experience and skilled civilian employment.

The collaboration creates a structured career pathway—from training to certification to guaranteed interviews with hiring partners in AMVET Power’s network. Graduates leave the program fully qualified for welding, fabrication, and industrial maintenance roles, helping to fill a growing workforce shortage in the skilled trades. Wounded Warriors Family Support CEO Kate McCauley emphasized the program’s focus on “real-world outcomes,” ensuring veterans gain not just technical skills but long-term career stability.

This initiative also reflects a broader shift among veteran nonprofits toward integrated workforce pipelines that prioritize sustainable employment over short-term job placement. By aligning technical training with employer demand, organizations like Wounded Warriors Family Support and AMVET Power are setting a new standard for impactful, measurable veteran career support.
